Contrast: Black Templar (18ML)

An intense, ultra-deep charcoal Citadel Contrast paint formulated with high-density black pigments suspended in a unique, flowing medium. Designed to wash over a light undercoat, it pulls away slightly from sharp edges to leave a cold, dark-grey highlight while pooling with absolute, pitch-black opacity in the recesses, delivering a complete dark base coat and shadow in a single application. Packaged in an 18ml pot.

What it’s good for:

~ Instantly painting the iconic, stark black power armor of the Black Templars Chapter, sinister Chaos Space Marines, or grimdark infantry plating

~ Achieving a fast, matte-black finish on heavy military boots, leather pouches, combat webbing, and weapons casings

~ Coating mechanical parts, engine blocks, and vehicle tracks to establish quick shadows before drybrushing with metallics

~ Providing a rich, dark base for alien carapaces, obsidian stone ruins, and deep, shadowed terrain crevices

What it goes well with:

~ Grey Seer or White Scar (Contrast undercoats—Grey Seer gives the black a gritty, industrial, slightly desaturated look, while White Scar makes the built-in grey highlights look sharper and more pronounced)

~ Eshin Grey, Dawnstone, or Administratum Grey (Traditional layer paints—essential for cleaning up flat armor panels or picking out crisp, volumetric edge highlights over the Contrast coat)

~ Nuln Oil (Shade wash—while the Contrast paint is already incredibly dark, a pin-wash of Nuln Oil into the deep panel lines helps kills any slight sheen and locks in a flat, dead shadow)
